Torchlight by mellapants Torchlight by mellapants

When it comes to games I can accept that I am running around in a cavern 25 stories underground firing spells at poisonous walking trees. It’s my ferret’s pack that keeps me awake at night. How does he carry so much? Am I being cruel loading my ferret up to the gills with my extra battle maces? And it gets killed all the time, why aren’t I just leaving it in the ferret kennel in town?

I missed Torchlight the first time around so I got it on when I was buying Planescape: Torment (the best RPG ever or the BESTEST RPG ever?). I loaded it all up and then got all weepy for Diablo 2. Does anyone else ever look back on their relationship with their spouse and remember what games you used to play together when you were first dating?

I like the Fallout method- you might not see the cartload of items you're carrying, but when you're trudging twenty miles across the wasteland at half the speed of a snail, you don't go a step without wishing you had a mule. And when you've already lugged a pressure cooker five miles, you'll be damned if you're going to drop the thing now :D

Pfffft! I would just be wondering how I could make my animal/pet/familiar carry MORE stuff.

I is really bothersome when you seem to have bottomless pockets full of huge but weightless items.
It is also bothersome to be constantly slowed because your invisible inventory weighs to much but isn't full yet.
How about when you open your inventory your character summons a goblin pulling a wheelbarrow and when you close it the goblin pulls the wheelbarrow a few feet and then vanishes in a puff of smoke. Then you have infinite weightless inventory that actually makes sense.

I have always questioned games where your inventory has no visible storage space...

Yeah.  Where do you keep your stuff?  The invisible mule train?
